Summary

Way back in February, dA admin $chix0r told Vampirella87 personally that tracing from existing artworks with minor changes (background, colors, etc.) isn't allowed in dA.

Vampy, who always plays it safe by staying within gray areas and tries not to get into trouble with mods and admins decides to step down and take her plagiarisms elsewhere.

Not happy with the poor attention she's getting in Minitokyo, she decides to come back to dA and start over.

At first, there was nothing wrong, she was actually posting what seems to be original artworks (drawn using vector).
Everything was fine until...


Vampy saw a rejected violation report for a trace plagiarism and was somehow given the illusion that "screenshot tracings are allowed again in dA".

She then starts uploading one screenshot tracing after another, testing the waters to see if admins are going to take it down.
Because no action was taken, she started uploading screenshot tracings regularly and pretty much gone back to her old self (disables comments for screenshot tracings as well as blocking anyone who exposes her).

However, she should have tested the waters thoroughly before going swimming because she wound up getting swallowed whole by sharks.

Vampy's uploading of screenshot tracings was brought to the attention of the same admin who told her they weren't allowed and before anyone could say "Live Trace", Vampy got banned.


As a reminder, direct tracings of screenshots and artworks not your own are not allowed in dA (anymore).
If getting banned for uploading screenshot tracings could happen to a deviant with subscription and over a million pageviews, it could happen to anyone else.


Finally, if you find a trace plagiarist in dA, please avoid any unwanted conflict and just follow these guidelines on how to submit proper violation reports against trace plagiarism.
I mean, the guys in dA are finally willing to listen to us, so show some appreciation by not inciting any unnecessary drama.


Also, do visit , the one responsible for getting Vampirella87 banned for good and congratulate him for a job well done.


UPDATE:

This just in. Vampirella87's old test account, !Genkishonen has been banned.
Reasons for the ban is unknown.
I suspect that an admin closed the account instead of her closing it herself.
Otherwise, my message informing others of her 'main account' being banned would have been hidden.

Two more accounts to go.

UPDATE:

Vampirella87's other two accounts, !Vampyslinearts and !Onikyou has been banned.

There are suspicions that ~LithiumChaos is a sock-puppet account of Vampirella87 but I can't confirm it.
If you guys can find proof of that, be sure to let the admins know, since ban-evading is against deviantART policy.
